I have been involved in teaching swim lessons for younger children for a few years and it is great to see them improve in the water. I believe that there are similarities between teaching people how to swim and teaching people various subjects in math and science. This involves translating your knowledge to terms and ways that someone else can understand and comprehend it. Therefore, I believe my swim lesson skills can translate directly to tutoring. I have also been involved in Big Brothers Big Sisters in the Worcester area for four years. Once a week, I visit my "little sister" at her school and we complete homework together before playing games in the gym. Even though her homework is at an elementary level, I am able to guide her through the exercises so that she can finish them effectively.
